Chestertons Gibraltar is proud to celebrate the outstanding success of the 2025 Med Steps 5 Challenge, which this year raised a record-breaking £28,900 in aid of Cancer Relief Gibraltar. Organised by HM Prison Officers and supported by a dedicated network of volunteers and sponsors, the event drew over 720 participants, making it the most successful edition to date.
As a main sponsor, Chestertons is honoured to support this iconic community event, which has become a highlight in Gibraltar’s annual calendar, uniting people of all ages and fitness levels in a shared effort to support individuals and families affected by cancer.
The event’s continued growth is a testament to the passion and commitment of its founder, Mark Cooper, whose efforts were recently recognised at the highest level. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mark on being awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in The King’s Birthday Honours List today, for his services to charity fundraising in Gibraltar.
“Mark’s dedication and tireless work have transformed a simple idea into a powerful community movement. His recognition is thoroughly deserved, and we are proud to stand alongside him in support of Cancer Relief Gibraltar,” said Mike Nicholls, CEO of Chestertons Gibraltar.
The funds raised will help Cancer Relief Gibraltar continue delivering essential services free of charge, including nursing care, emotional support, and day services, to those facing cancer in our community.
Chestertons also extends its thanks to fellow sponsors Sovereign Wealth, Image Graphics, and LiveScore Gibraltar, as well as every individual who participated, volunteered, or donated to this year's event.
“The Med Steps 5 Challenge isn’t just about the money raised,” added Paul Duck, Chestertons’ managing director, “It’s also about community spirit, compassion, and resilience. We are incredibly proud to be a part of something that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”
