Best April on record for website stats Image
28% more users visited Chestertons.gi in April 2020 than April 2019 undertaking 24% more sessions.  That’s a phenomenal result given the lockdown for the entire month.

The users were spread over 86 different countries with Gibraltar, UK, Spain and the USA easily the top 4.  France, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Malta and Ireland made up the top 10.

The success of our email newsletter Gibraltar Property News, which moved from monthly to daily on 30th March will have contributed to the statistics as some days it linked to some of the more popular articles we published this month, for example Why the Gibraltar property market will survive this pandemic, Who pays the bill?, Who pays the bill, part 2? and one of the most popular, Living with Covid-19, the diary of our Operations Directors who suffered from the virus in early April.

But the vast majority of visitors were looking at sales and rentals with the latter marginally more popular.  Having said that, our FAQs for purchasers and information on stamp duty were high up in the list of landing pages, suggesting there is pent up interest out there.  On our first day re-opening our doors on 2nd May, we had an interested party in The Hub, the development of studios forecast to be completed end of June / July and new interest in a property in Catalan Bay.

Back to the statistics, in the first 4 months of this calendar year, the number of unique users of our Chestertons.gi website was 19% up on the same 4 months as the prior year with the number of sessions on the site up by the same amount.  March 2019 remains our best ever single month, for reasons we cannot quite pinpoint, possibly due to the publication of the Spain Gibraltar tax agreement on 4th March 2019 which caused a strong reaction from those living in Spain and working in Gibraltar to look at moving to Gibraltar.

And just for interest, the April 2020 stats show that 44% of those accessing our site used Safari whilst 35% used Chrome as their browser, 51% used a mobile, 41% a desktop and 8% a tablet.

We don’t mind how we were accessed, we are just pleased for our vendors and landlords who place their trust in us that our effort and marketing spend is bringing an ever increasing number of users from across the world to our Gibraltar website.
