Jessie J and UB40 headlined the hugely successful Gibraltar Music Festival on Saturday night (8thSeptember). It certainly adds further to Gibraltar’s growing international exposure as a great place to live and work. I hope that they will continue and have a music festival every year. It was great to have top acts come to Gibraltar, hopefully it will be the stepping stone for more acts to follow. And it was the first experience of a music concert for many teenagers and children.
With 7,000 attending, the atmosphere was buzzing. There were three local bands who were thrilled to be sharing the stage with UB40 and Jessie J. All in all, a wide selection to appeal across generations. Top marks must go to the government whose idea it was and who promoted the whole show brilliantly. And thanks to Jessie J, who was tweeting her own photos of the Gibraltar event within minutes of leaving the stage.
