Today's press conference was given by the deputy Chief Minister, Joseph Garcia and the Minister for Civil Contingencies, Samantha Sacramento.

Key points:

  • Stay at home unless absolutely necessary
  • If over 70, stay at home
  • The form for businesses and the self-employed to claim the "inactive" status for April 2020 is now live

  • Guidelines for the application of the new BEAT COVID19 is also now available
  • 22 of 28 flights to Gibraltar have been cancelled this week.  BA intends to undertake a flight 6 days a week throughout during April.  Easyjet will operate a flight on Sunday 29 March
  • Some 1,000 have volunteered to assist
  • Moorish Castle will be lit up in blue tonight as a show of community support for our front line essential services
  • Exception on some construction sites to keep working is due to the status of the works where closure is more dangerous than finishing off essential works to make the site safe.  In such cases, workers are being contained to the site.
