Following our recent appeal, we are delighted to share the outcome of Chestertons’ BIG Donation in support of the GBC Open Day, and to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part.

When we paused our much loved BIG Breakfast for one year only, circumstances could easily have left a gap in December’s fundraising calendar. Instead, the community stepped forward. Contributions from Bitesize Brief readers totalled £3,965.43, a remarkable show of generosity in its own right.

At the same time, the Bitesize Brief reached its milestone of 5,000 subscribers, triggering Chestertons’ commitment to donate 50p per subscriber. This meant a £2,500 contribution from Chestertons Gibraltar, proudly added to the readers’ total.

Together, this brought the BIG Donation to £6,463.45 for GBC Open Day — a result that genuinely exceeded expectations and reaffirmed why this initiative matters so much to us.

The BIG Donation may lack Father Christmas on an e-bike and thousands of breakfast baps crossing Gibraltar at dawn, but it achieved what truly counts: meaningful support for GBC’s flagship charity and a reminder of what a small community can do when people give just a little.

To our readers, donors, partners and supporters — thank you. We hope that the BIG Breakfast will return in 2026. Until then, this year’s result stands as something we can all be quietly proud of.
