For the first time in a decade, Chestertons will not be delivering its much-loved BIG Breakfast, an annual charity event that has seen thousands of breakfast baps prepared and delivered across Gibraltar on the first Friday of December. Over the last 10 years, the initiative has raised more than £40,000 for the GBC Open Day, with last year’s record-breaking 2,000 baps generating over £10,000 alone.

This year, however, the kitchen at Bruno’s, a key partner in the BIG Breakfast operation, is out of action. As a result, Chestertons has temporarily parked the event and replaced it with a new initiative: the BIG Donation.

The Bitesize Brief, is about to reach a major milestone: 5,000 subscribers.

Originating during Covid and known for its easy-to-read updates on Gibraltar’s property market, economy, business and tax landscape, the newsletter has grown into an important community resource.

To mark the milestone, Chestertons will donate 50p per subscriber, a total of £2,500, to the GBC Open Day once the 5,000 mark is reached. Today we are at 4,980.

If every subscriber donated just £1 for the next twelve months of added-value news, we’d raise £5,000 overnight, so we’re hoping many will feel able to give £5! And GBC has given us a great plug on their news channels.

The BIG Donation isn’t as fun as the BIG Breakfast, we love seeing Father Christmas out on an e-bike delivering baps across Gibraltar, but we couldn’t let December pass without supporting GBC’s flagship charity. The timing with Bitesize made this idea an obvious solution.
