Our sponsored football team, FC Brunos Magpies, won both the second division league title and the second division cup. It was a great season and the team are now preparing for life in the first division. Talks are underway in respect of renewed sponsorship between Chestertons and the club.
Chestertons has always taken an interest in the Gibraltar community and sport is no different. We have been affiliated with the Brunos Magpies club for four years now, supporting their great initiatives like being the only domestic cub to produce a football programme for its fans at each match and funding burgers for the supporters at half-time. Chestertons is synonymous with innovation, as is Brunos Magpies in their sector, and we hope to extend our relationship into the next most exciting of seasons.
Meanwhile, many readers will remember the KitAid football shirt charity appeal. We were delighted to receive the photo shown from the charity of four guys in Hargeisa in Somaliland wearing the 2015/16 Brunos Magpies football kit following the distribution of the 490 football shorts collected last November.
