Chestertons Gibraltar Sponsors The Sovereign Young Artist Competition 2026 in partnership with Gibraltar Cultural Services and in aid of the Sovereign Art Foundation.
Chestertons Gibraltar has joined as a sponsor of The Sovereign Young Artist Competition 2026, organised in conjunction with Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS) and in aid of the Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF).
The Sovereign Young Artist Competition celebrates creativity and talent among Gibraltar’s young people, providing a platform for secondary school students and young adults to showcase their artistic abilities to a wider audience. Through this initiative, participating schools, students, individuals and the wider community benefit from creative engagement and the positive impact of art on wellbeing.
Sovereign and Chestertons have enjoyed a strong professional relationship for many years, having jointly supported local initiatives such as the Med Steps 5 Challenge.
Chestertons’ sponsorship of the 2026 competition builds on their longstanding tradition of supporting community and charitable causes, such as their annual Big Breakfast fundraiser in aid of the GBC Open Day. By sponsoring this initiative, Chestertons continues to champion Gibraltar’s youth and foster creativity within the community.
This support not only strengthens the competition locally, by helping to provide young artists with a platform to share their talents both in Gibraltar and internationally, but also furthers the mission of the Sovereign Art Foundation which is to transform lives and build connections through art, striving for a future in which everyone has access to art and its impact on wellbeing.
Through initiatives such as school art department grants and grants to the 2026 charity partner, The Growing Artist Programme, the competition continues to enrich Gibraltar’s creative ecosystem. Chestertons’ sponsorship directly contributes to sustaining and expanding this important work.
Mike Nicholls, CEO of Chestertons Gibraltar, commented:
